“What is the best time of the Year for a multi day Alaska Surf Boat Trip?”
Both Spring and Fall are the ideal seasons to join us for a 6 to 10 day Surf Boat Trip. These seasons bring winter storms, and the daylight to enjoy a full 12 hour tide cycle.
"How many surfer’s does the M/v Aleutia carry?"
The US Coast Guard limits us to 6 passengers as an (UPV) Un-inspected Passenger Vessel. We offer both Private Group Trips & Trips for Individuals to Join.
"We're only in Seward for a day, is that enough time to catch some Alaskan waves?"
If there is swell to chase, we can throw together a custom day trip for your crew, this will require a private full day charter. Additionally, we have Wetsuits & Surfboards available for rent
What skill level is required to participate in one of these trips?
We offer trips geared towards all different skill levels. As surfers know, wave sizes change daily & Ultimately, the decision is up to the individual to risk asses the conditions as safe for their abilities before paddling in from the boat to surf.
"How cold is the water temperature in Alaska and what thickness of wetsuit do I need?"
South Central Alaska's water temperature ranges from 39-56 F degrees throughout the changing seasons!
If you dont have your own suit, we've got you covered with a cold-water specific 5/4mm hooded wetsuits, boots, and gloves. Wetsuit technology has come a long way in the last 10 years and nowadays you're more likely to get out of the water from pure exhaustion or daylight limitations before you do from being cold.
"Do you provide surfboards and stand up paddle boards for the trips?"
Yes, we offer a wide range of short, Mid, and longboards, available for rent during the trips.
“Can we Ski & Surf in the Same Trip?”
Yes, Spring is the ideal season for a snow and surf combo trip. on Average years, there is snow down to the water. We can scout ski lines from the boat, and then drop your crew off at the beach for a day in the backcountry.
